| Carisa Sherwood, BA I was raised here in the Sacramento area and I attended Del Campo High School, graduating with a 3.8 gpa in 1994. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley with a minor in Education. I graduated with a 3.7 gpa in my major in 1998. I was part of numerous research projects, cheerleading, and worked as a Behavior Modification Therapist with Autistic Children. After college I continued to work with Autistic children and worked at an elementary school in the special education classrooms until 2000. From 2000-2005 My husband and I started a family. During that time I ran an in-home daycare program for three years. In 2006 I decided to go back to school to get my Master's Degree. I have been a counselor since the beginning of 2007. I am currently enrolled in an accredited Master's Program in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Technically by the state of California I am considered a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee. As a trainee I am supervised at least weekly by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Gary Henderson #7053. Once I graduate, I will register as an Intern and finish collecting my 3000 hours required before I take the state licensing exam to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. |
